Sony's next-gen PlayStation 5 is coming, and we know it'll be fast... but "world's fastest console", fast? The talk about next-generation gaming consoles continues to become heated by the day considering both Microsoft’s Xbox Scarlett and Sony’s PlayStation 5 are getting closer to their release window.

While there’s still over a year to go before the PlayStation 5 finally launches, Sony is slowly releasing more and more details about the console.Sony has already spilled a lot about its next-generation gaming consoles like a custom version AMD Zen 2 CPU and the fact that it will feature a Solid State Drive. Now, Sony has hinted that the PlayStation 5 will be the ‘world’s fastest console’, in a new job ad posted on its website.

The job ad is for a Senior Cloud Engineer manager at Sony Interactive Entertainment, with the listing looking for someone "to build next generation cloud infrastructure". This person, if they're accepted, "will also be one of the leaders of an elite team that is super excited to launch the upcoming world's fastest console (PS5) in 2020".

Sony can claim this all they want but we cannot verify this yet considering that it was not yet released or even launched. At this point, we have no idea what the PlayStation 5 is capable of. However, based on earlier reports, we can assume that the Japanese console maker is concentrating on the speed of its upcoming gaming console.

As expected, the console is called the PlayStation 5 , and will launch in time for ‘Holiday 2020.’

In a blog about the news, Jim Ryan , President and CEO of SIE, said: “Since we originally unveiled our next-generation console in April, we know that there’s been a lot of excitement and interest in hearing more about what the future of games will bring.

“Today I’m proud to share that our next-generation console will be called PlayStation 5, and we’ll be launching in time for Holiday 2020.”
